Apples & Donuts

Nothing better then farm fresh corn & pickles!!
My cute little white pumpkin =)

I love looking out my window this time of year and seeing all the trees changing colors. Nothing makes me feel like its fall more than going apple picking. For as long as I can remember I have been going with my family, and it’s a tradition that I will always continue. The past few years we have been so lucky with the weather being warm when we go, and that makes it so much more enjoyable!

Once we are done with picking apples I love going into the market because everything is just so fresh! The smell of donuts baking is my personal favorite, and I look forward to them all year. The market had samples of their homemade Apple Cherry Cider which I have never had before because I’m not much of an Apple Cider person, but this was so good!! It tastes like the juice from the bottom of an ice pop AKA delicious! That paired with warm apple crisp and I am in heaven.

This vampy tee felt perfect to wear on a fall day over a cozy flannel. I purchased this tee last year from Q Tee. They have an awesome website that lets you customize your purchase! Have a good day & thanks so much for reading!!

Sunflowers

Ready to explore!!

Throughout the field there are sunflowers with different faces & designs on them which was so cute!

These flowers were almost 12 feet tall!
I love this photo that I took of my friend because it really shows the perspective of these flowers.

For the past two years I have wanted to go to a sunflower field, but I couldn’t find the time to take the trip. The flowers have a short season so it’s the type of thing you have to know about in advance, and then plan a weekend. That’s why I wanted to write this post so I could share this amazing experience with all of you!

This year I was finally able to go while they were still in full bloom. Once we started exploring I was in total shock by how tall these sunflowers were, it’s like nothing I have ever experienced or seen. It was acres upon acres of fields with all different kinds of sunflowers. I was on cloud nine the entire time! This particular location that I went to is closed now, but I would recommend marking your calendar to save the date for next year! It’s called Sussex County Sunflower Maze.

Last weekend I was up in the same area, and while driving I passed a beautiful sunflower field that still had blooming flowers, so I wouldn’t get your hopes down just yet. I’m assuming it depends when they plant the seeds how long their season lasts. My advice is to call before going, and if you have to wait until next year its 100% worth it. Happy October everyone!! Comment below if you have suggestions for any fun fall activities, I love hearing about new places to visit!

It’s Not Over Until it’s Over

Monday, September 19, 2016

Everyone keeps talking about summer being over, but the first official day of fall is September 22 so we technically have until Thursday to enjoy it! If you follow me on my Instagram @wildwavez you definitely understand my love for the summer because I am at the beach soaking up that vitamin D every chance I get. My next favorite season is fall, and I’m so excited to be partnering up with StyleHaul as a Trend Ambassador just in time for fall fashion! I love all of the festive activities and especially the fashion that goes along with it! Of course I love my booties and flannels, but I thought I would focus on beauty trends that I plan on experimenting with.

Pigtail braids are super on trend right now and they are such a fun hairstyle because no matter what you are wearing it really changes the vibe of your overall look. I’m very lucky that my mom is a hair stylist, and my sister is amazing with hair so they helped me out with my braids. There are tons of YouTube tutorials that can help you with learning how to re-create this look! Amber Fillerup is always posting videos of her infamous braids. She is my ultimate favorite blogger and I highly recommend checking out her blog as well!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my post it means so much to me! I hope everyone is taking advantage of the remaining days of the warm weather. Stay tuned for my next post on a sunflower field I ventured to the other weekend. Some of the flowers were up to 12 feet tall, it was like nothing I have ever seen before!

Long Beach Island

Sunday, August 7, 2016

You really just can't beat an LBI sunset

My sister's layered jewels

Bike rides everyday on my pink beach bike :)

Just a few of the shells we found

I now work at Lokai & I loved how everyone on the trip was wearing their Lokai bracelets

My first FULL lobster experience was delish!

Our last day in LBI we stopped at this awesome shop that had this mosaic tile outside the entire store which was BEAUTIFUL

I wanted to share some pictures from my recent trip to Long Beach Island, New Jersey. I had the most amazing time and got so lucky because the weather was just perfect! LBI is my most favorite place because it’s like nowhere else, and you instantly feel relaxed when you get on to the island. When I’m there I don’t feel like I’m in New Jersey anymore because it’s so different than anywhere else.

Every night we watched a beautiful sunset over the bay, and the last day I woke my mom and sister up to watch the sunrise on the beach with me. It was so worth waking up early! I wish I could wake up that easily everyday for work. I BET if I could watch the sunset on the beach everyday before work I would have a much easier time waking up! I’m a total beach bum so it was great to have a house on the beach and be able to ride my bike everywhere. Playing can jam, paddle board, drinking, tanning, reading, finding sand dollars, I could literally stay at the beach for the entire day and be totally content.

I practically ate my way through LBI and had so much delicious fresh seafood. I'm currently craving the crumb cake from Bay Village and coffee from Cool Beans. Since I have been home every coffee I have I compare to Cool Beans and legit NOTHING has even come close.

Well I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!! xoxo

Buela the Elephant

Saturday, June 25, 2016

Skylands Stadium is where I had this incredible experience! Buela is currently at the Meadowlands State Fair if you want to meet her!

If you follow along on my Instagram you know that last weekend I had the experience of a lifetime riding and hand feeding an elephant! Her name was Buela and she is 44 years old, and they have had her since she was a baby. Who knew they had such a sweet tooth for cotton candy?! My sister had my cotton candy in her purse, and the elephant must have smelt it and stuck her trunk right in there! It was such an incredible experience, and something I will remember for the rest of my life. It was amazing how gentle such a big animal can be. My goal is to one day go to Africa on a safari and see all the animals in their natural habitats. That would be the trip of a lifetime!

Anyways, the next day I did my first day trip of the summer to Long Branch. I heard about a new place called Playa Bowls that recently opened up in Pier Village so I had to check it out. I’m a huge fan of acai/pitaya bowls so I’m pumped that now there is a place to get them in Pier Village! It was so delicious and so filling, they don’t skimp out at all on any of the toppings! It will most definitely be my new spot for the summer whenever I am in Long Branch!

I cannot believe that next weekend is already July 4th aka my favorite holiday to dress up for :) Enjoy your week! xo

Bubble Tea

Tuesday, May 10, 2016

Close up of all the different flavor options

The other day I decided to take a drive and visit my sister at school. Warm days instantly make me want to get outside after being cooped up all winter. I can never get enough of the sun!

My sister always goes to a cool spot called Intrinsic Café. They are known for their bubble tea, and I have been wanting to try it out for a while. I was unsure what to expect, but it was delicious and did not disappoint! I got mango passionfruit, which turned out to be a great combo :) The bubbles are made of Tapioca and to me tasted like gummy bears because they are a similar chewy consistency.

Tapioca is not something that I was familiar with, but after doing some research I found out that it has great health benefits! It aids in digestion, helps enhance energy (healthier coffee replacement), helps to protect and develop bones, and useful for muscle growth and development to name a few! It’s actually a starch that is extracted from a cassava root. The dry flakes turn into clear, jellylike balls when mixed with liquids, aka the “bubbles” of Bubble Tea. I highly suggest trying Bubble Tea! Intrinsic Café is in Newark NJ, and they offer tons of yummy flavors! You can also get the bubbles in a shake consistency; my sister’s favorite is green tea.

Follow along on my Instagram @wildwavez to see more of my springtime adventures! My sister and her best friend have a food Instagram @munchymap if your looking for new trendy food places in the tri-state area! Beware of looking at their account while your hungry because you will want to go everywhere that they post about!
