Shopping Dose of Zen jewels in the cafe

Happy Sunday!! It’s been a steamy July and the way I have been staying cool when not at the beach is by eating pitaya bowls filled with fresh berries and drizzled with almond butter. After 26 years in the hair industry my mom is now managing a cafe, and I’m so proud to watch her take this leap and switch career paths. I'm sure you have seen me tagging @cupacafe in my stories because I love spending my weekends there. It has a true cozy cafe feel which I believe is very rare. I typically bring my laptop and chill out on the couches ordering endless iced coffee, avocado toast, and açaí/pitaya bowls. There is also fresh baked goods, my personal weakness being the blueberry muffins. They just started the concept of a "positivity jar" at the coffee pick-up where you take a note and leave a note, inspired by my hours scrolling through Pinterest. Spreading positivity and good vibes! If you are in the area near the Short Hills mall in New Jersey, stop by and check it out.

Now onto the fashion details! Annie Sez in my town is going out of business and a few weekends ago I snagged these boyfriend jeans with flower embellishments. I paired them with a flowy babydoll tank and peep toe booties both from Lulu's. I have always been hesitant about buying clothes online because I border between sizes, but Lulu's has proved to be my go-to online shop because of the price point, quality, and true size scale. What are some of your guys favorite online shops?? I'm always looking for recommendations, comment below!

I hope everyone is having a great summer! Starting this weekend I'm beginning 4 straight weeks of traveling between personal & work trips so follow along on my Instagram to see where I'm headed next! xo

Dose of Zen jewels always

The end of April I escaped reality for a few days and went to Florida with my boyfriend. I really took advantage of this opportunity to live in the moment and appreciate my time there. So often I find myself thinking about the future instead of fully enjoying the moment. While in Florida I soaked in the sunshine, took walks on the beach collecting shells, floated in the ocean, and always seemed to have a mojito in my hand. I’m also a bookworm so I finished a novel This One is Mine and I couldn’t put it down.

We stayed in Fort Lauderdale at the B Ocean Resort. I loved the walk from our hotel room to the ocean because it made me feel like I was in a jungle with all the trees and greenery. It was amazing being able to order food and drinks all day from the beach so I basically clocked in all day from the beach chair shortly after breakfast everyday.

As simple as it might sound I’ve always wanted to order pizza and eat it on the beach, probably because I obsessively follow @thesaltyblonde. One night my boyfriend was in charge of dinner plans and he actually suggested that idea. I mean the pizza didn’t compare to NJ, but having my feet in the sand and hearing the ocean waves crashing in the background made it a perfect night.

I’m always on the hunt for deals, and I discovered Shein where I bought the two piece that I was wearing in my photos in the ocean. It’s difficult for me to find bottoms that fit right and this is what I have been looking for. The top knot bikini top is super cute, and I know I will be mixing it with other bottoms this summer.

Now I’m even more ready for summer, and MDW is a week away!

Mosaic

Sunday, March 18, 2018

My 25th birthday was the perfect time to reflect on this past year. I have been reading this book called Joy in Every Moment and I read a passage that really stuck with me. "Mosaics are beautiful pieces of artwork made from shattered bits of glass and broken tile.” This really resonated with me because 24 was all about growth, and finding who I really am and where I want to be in life. It took getting broken to now become who I am today which I see as a beautiful journey.

Now on to the fun part my birthday celebration! It was honestly one of my best birthday’s I can remember and everything went so smoothly. After a lot of research on the best bottomless brunch spots in NYC I came across Maya and it was incredible!! For $50 it was unlimited drinks, and they sample you the entire menu and whatever you like they bring out more of. Yes I said the ENTIRE menu! I have never been to a restaurant that does this, and endless Mexican food is exactly how I wanted to spend my birthday with mimosas flowing all afternoon.

I stayed in the city at The Standard High Line and I have to say it is now my favorite hotel chain. For the winter they have an ice rink out front, which is a ton of fun after you have some drinks in you! They also have a Biergartden with fun games, and the most amazing hot pretzels. No joke I ate 4 that night, but hey it was my birthday!

Birthdays are always an excuse to shop and I got my full outfit online from Lulu’s. I’m not really a girl that loves jeans, and I knew I wanted a comfortable pair of pants for this all day celebration and I’m now obsessed with these nude wide leg cropped pants. They are great because I can wear them all year long. I did an outfit change after brunch, and put on an off the shoulder bodysuit to get a bit more dressy for the night.

Looking forward to see where this new journey takes me at 25! It's just the beginning! xo

Forever Finds

They sold out of this top in black & white, but this is the same style in green & navy

For this year instead of writing resolutions because I feel like that can be a little cliche and add pressure, I decided to write down my vision/goals for 2018. On that list is to prioritize my blog and do at least one small thing a day that I enjoy, which for me includes blogging. A reason I have been a little MIA on my blog is because my Mac of 7 years decided to crash on me, and I was putting off buying a new laptop. This past weekend I decided to pull the trigger and bought a new Mac Air and I LOVE it! It's important to treat yourself every once in a while.

I have been really excited to share this outfit because it was such a great find at an even better price. My top & denim skirt are from Forever 21. The top was $10 and the denim skirt was $27. I’m really into bell sleeves, and I find myself always buying them. I love that denim skirts made such a big comeback & weren’t just a fad. I particularly liked this one because of the patch and stud detail.

My accessories are all from Dose of Zen I’m so proud my sister and her best friend for launching their website and being so passionate to follow their dreams while still in college.

I hope everyone is having a good start to the new year and if it's not exactly what you envisioned, try not to be so hard on yourself. There is a new day in the horizon full of new opportunities waiting for you to take the first step to get there. Sending good vibes to each and every one of you that take the time to check out my page. xo
