Winter Blues Cure

I will be living in these sandals ALL SUMMER :)

You are never too old to look for shells at the beach

Check out @dozbrand Instagram page for handmade jewelry at great prices!!

Sunshine, saltwater, and the sand between my toes is the recipe to cure my winter blues.
It’s the simple things in life that really bring me happiness, and it’s important to not overlook them. Waking up to a sunny sky and warm weather instantly lifts my mood. I ended up staying an extra day in Florida because of the huge blizzard we got in New Jersey.  In my book an extra beach day isn’t the worst place to get stuck.

I really love the look that I wore the last night to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Downtown Delray Florida. It was such a simple outfit, but I can see the denim skirt I bought from Forever 21 being a staple in my summer wardrobe. It’s so funny how denim skirts are everywhere right now, because when I was in middle school I had so many! It’s crazy to see the fashion cycle, and how almost everything repeats itself with a modernized twist. My sandals for that look………I splurged on them and bought them while I was in Florida, but it was worth it because I am obsessed! They were handmade in Columbia and are so beautiful with all the intricate design details. The tops of my feet got burnt soooo I didn’t take the best picture of them, but I will be wearing them ALL summer so stay tuned!

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my blog, it means more to me then you know! I hope you had an amazing weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather today. It’s finally starting to feel like spring! Have a fantastic week it's an opportunity for a clean slate and a fresh start! xo

24 Years of Brunching

Three layer waffle & vanilla ice cream shake

This year for my birthday instead of going out for dinner with my family, I opted for going to brunch. If you live in the New Jersey/New York area chances are you have heard about Brownstone Pancake Factory because they are blowing up on social media. Breakfast is my favorite food, so it seemed like the perfect spot for my birthday. I ordered chocolate covered strawberry chocolate chip pancakes AKA heaven on a plate!!! It’s also BYOB so it’s a great brunch spot right outside the city.

Having a birthday in February I’m used to always having cold weather on my birthday, and bundling up to make the best of it. This year Mother Nature decided to give me a treat, and show me what a warm winter birthday is like! After brunch we stopped at the Palisades Interstate Park with an incredible view of the GW Bridge. It’s such a beautiful lookout, and I definitely want to go back in the spring. At night I went out with my girlfriends and wore this lace bodysuit that I ordered from Windsor. Recently I have really been into bodysuits because they make an outfit so easy to put together.

Twenty-four for me is going to be about better accepting where I am at in my life, and not putting too much focus and stress on the future. I’m always going to have goals, but I’m going to try to live more in the moment. Life is about the journey, not the end destination. It’s important to enjoy the little special moments along the way.

I’m currently finishing up packing for a spontaneous trip. I couldn’t be more excited to escape reality for a few days, and soak up the warm sun. Stay tuned and check out my Instagram @wildwavez for my warm weather getaway! xo

Taylor Swift Experience

Sunday, January 1, 2017

My sister and me are obsessed with Taylor Swift, so when we heard she was having an exhibit in New York we had to get tickets. It was incredible to see the outfits she wore on tour and on the red carpet up close. They are even more beautiful in person! It's crazy to think she grew up in Pennsylvania on a Christmas tree farm, and to now see how far she has come. It proves that anything is possible no matter where you come from!! I was so wishing she would have showed up at the exhibit, but sadly she did not. The Taylor Swift Experience is open until February 19.

After we went to a taco place across the street called El Lunchador. If you like Mexican food you have to check it out! They even have an air-stream with extra seating where you could eat as well. All of this is in the Seaport District in New York. It's a really cool area to walk around and see all of the boats on the water. I would imagine it would be even better in the summer when it's warm out, but we bundled up and made the best of it. It helped that the day before I got myself a new warm winter jacket at Lord & Taylor's after-holiday sale. There is nothing better then getting a good deal in my opinion :)

I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and is ready for 2017! There is something very cleansing and refreshing about a new year with a clean start where you can dictate your own journey. Thank you all for following, and I'm excited to continue to share this journey together.

Apples & Donuts

Nothing better then farm fresh corn & pickles!!
My cute little white pumpkin =)

I love looking out my window this time of year and seeing all the trees changing colors. Nothing makes me feel like its fall more than going apple picking. For as long as I can remember I have been going with my family, and it’s a tradition that I will always continue. The past few years we have been so lucky with the weather being warm when we go, and that makes it so much more enjoyable!

Once we are done with picking apples I love going into the market because everything is just so fresh! The smell of donuts baking is my personal favorite, and I look forward to them all year. The market had samples of their homemade Apple Cherry Cider which I have never had before because I’m not much of an Apple Cider person, but this was so good!! It tastes like the juice from the bottom of an ice pop AKA delicious! That paired with warm apple crisp and I am in heaven.

This vampy tee felt perfect to wear on a fall day over a cozy flannel. I purchased this tee last year from Q Tee. They have an awesome website that lets you customize your purchase! Have a good day & thanks so much for reading!!

Ready to explore!!

Throughout the field there are sunflowers with different faces & designs on them which was so cute!

These flowers were almost 12 feet tall!
I love this photo that I took of my friend because it really shows the perspective of these flowers.

For the past two years I have wanted to go to a sunflower field, but I couldn’t find the time to take the trip. The flowers have a short season so it’s the type of thing you have to know about in advance, and then plan a weekend. That’s why I wanted to write this post so I could share this amazing experience with all of you!

This year I was finally able to go while they were still in full bloom. Once we started exploring I was in total shock by how tall these sunflowers were, it’s like nothing I have ever experienced or seen. It was acres upon acres of fields with all different kinds of sunflowers. I was on cloud nine the entire time! This particular location that I went to is closed now, but I would recommend marking your calendar to save the date for next year! It’s called Sussex County Sunflower Maze.

Last weekend I was up in the same area, and while driving I passed a beautiful sunflower field that still had blooming flowers, so I wouldn’t get your hopes down just yet. I’m assuming it depends when they plant the seeds how long their season lasts. My advice is to call before going, and if you have to wait until next year its 100% worth it. Happy October everyone!! Comment below if you have suggestions for any fun fall activities, I love hearing about new places to visit!

It’s Not Over Until it’s Over

Monday, September 19, 2016

Everyone keeps talking about summer being over, but the first official day of fall is September 22 so we technically have until Thursday to enjoy it! If you follow me on my Instagram @wildwavez you definitely understand my love for the summer because I am at the beach soaking up that vitamin D every chance I get. My next favorite season is fall, and I’m so excited to be partnering up with StyleHaul as a Trend Ambassador just in time for fall fashion! I love all of the festive activities and especially the fashion that goes along with it! Of course I love my booties and flannels, but I thought I would focus on beauty trends that I plan on experimenting with.

Pigtail braids are super on trend right now and they are such a fun hairstyle because no matter what you are wearing it really changes the vibe of your overall look. I’m very lucky that my mom is a hair stylist, and my sister is amazing with hair so they helped me out with my braids. There are tons of YouTube tutorials that can help you with learning how to re-create this look! Amber Fillerup is always posting videos of her infamous braids. She is my ultimate favorite blogger and I highly recommend checking out her blog as well!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my post it means so much to me! I hope everyone is taking advantage of the remaining days of the warm weather. Stay tuned for my next post on a sunflower field I ventured to the other weekend. Some of the flowers were up to 12 feet tall, it was like nothing I have ever seen before!
